A little gem of an Indian restaurant
tucked away at the back of Walthamstow opposite St James St rail
station.
This is a small friendly place, if you
visit more than once you will be immediately recognised and warmly
welcomed by the manager. The food is delicious, my particular
favourite being the Chicken Dhansak, and is served in good time as
soon as the last poppadom has been finished.
The surroundings are very cosy and warming
and there are two window tables each of which are 'slightly' curtained
off from the main restaurant, but easy to get seated at, as this
restaurant never seems to be over-crowded. The lighting is perfect for
that romantic feel, and is fine for a mellow get together with
friends. It beats the new 'contemporary feel' hands down.
The prices are reasonable and you can
choose from all the usual traditional tandoori dishes as well as the
chefs specials. Also there is free parking just round the corner too -
bl**dy marvelous.
